Reconciling Salik and Darb statements with vehicle records
Toll statement reconciliation reviews information you have obtained through an authorized method. It explains what entered the internal register and what still needs verification; it does not modify an authority’s records.
Preserve the statement reference and scope
Record its source, period, retrieval date, transaction count and stated total. Do not combine files covering the same period without checking overlap. Preserve the original source and clean a working copy so that results can be compared with the original when a difference appears.
Check duplication and time-based matching
Use an official transaction reference with its source when available. Otherwise review a combination of date, time, plate, location and amount based on available columns. Similarity alone does not prove duplication. Match transactions against plate history and vehicle usage periods, keeping unmatched rows in an exception list.
Explain totals and exceptions
Explain the difference between the source total and accepted records: confirmed duplicates, out-of-period entries, unmatched items or documented corrections. Do not discard unexplained rows just to make totals match. An authorized reviewer should assess customer allocation against supporting records and the agreement after operational matching is complete.
A practical checklist
- Source, period and an unchanged reference copy of the statement.
- Checks for overlapping files and repeated transaction references.
- An exception list for unmatched vehicles or periods.
- An explanation of total differences and approval before allocation.
Common questions
Is deleting similar transactions always safe?
No. Separate transactions may have similar times and amounts. Review source references and available fields before excluding a row.
Does this method assume a fixed tariff?
No. It reconciles source amounts and makes no assumption about current toll rates or rules.
